From the poggiotondo region of tuscany, this chiant (I'm not that familiar with chianti) has a strong, smooth and fresh faced but gentle smell. Its taste reflects this, a confident but kindly experience...an imperceptible sweet edge lifts it at the end. Verdict - very drinkable. Wine tends to be drinkable tho I guess!

Pictured - a cheap steak, leek bake for dinner and a bottle of the poggiotondo chianti

Is that a fried egg next to the steak, chips and carrots?
